current

this is what i just wrote in a snap, kind of something current.

voice from another time
remote, fond, mine
traverse the sea
in wires for me
soul to soul phone line

And this is something a few months at least old :)

i wish i had something to spend on her,
but I dont, so this poem i've penned.
though the last few weeks have been a blur,
there's not a moment i'd amend.
see,it's not been long since we met
and it could have never happened at all
if you'd not gone, then i'd regret
never meeting you, i'd never recall
that first glance of your pretty face
and the way your eyes came up to find
mine, and everything i planned to say had been erased
all the words in my mouth thrown out of my mind.

Ok, I haven't posted in a couple of days so here we go, 3 poems today. The first is from my collection and I wrote it a good while back. I think i stole the first line from someone but the rest is original

She talks with the tongue of a foreign mother,
The language barrier bangs and clangs as she speaks.
So, instead, we'll talk in lover,
Kisses carefully placed on her cheeks.

For every word that goes unspoken,
Five are said in her eyes.
But now she's gone and I'm broken,
And our sweet dialect dies.

this second poem is something i wrote yesterday, actually as a song. It was a verse but i liked it more as a poem. It's very simple in it's wording but sometimes things are more powerful when they're simple.

she says "i want to see the world"
but she's such a little girl
she says "i'm not sure where i'm heading
all i know is i want to go"
and that's a place that i know exists
but where it is i just don't know
you'll find it, trust me on this
lets just smile and take it slow

and just to finish, a short one, written for my girlfriend after a very special time on the back of a random scrap of paper :) i'm glad she saved it

she turns, smiles and says
"i don't feel awkward" displays
a real penchant for
heart wrenching amore
if only she'd stay for days

heavy stuff

I decided to go for a more heavy theme on this one, which i kind of snap wrote today.
Hope anyone likes it

when our children ask us why
we dropped those bombs
then watched grown men on the television cry
when they quietly enquire how did
we live with ourselves
when we were the ones who allowed it
will we tell them, well, our brave heroes fought for justice
against terror, for us all?
will we tell them that it was a just cause
liberating foreign soil?
well, I think it's more about what's underneath,
i'll tell them we traded blood for oil.

random poems from my collection

Here's a couple of poems, the first i wrote a few months back for someone. It's a bit personal but I want to post everything I have because I'm bored of not showing people!

eyes with a drop of iodine
a whole soul
laid bare in a stare
gaze opon gaze touch mine

rows of straight speech recall
her pearls to chew
opon the food
on her table arable to enthrall

turns heads with her flowing curves
every dip of a hip
rare swish of hair
makes me stutter from utter nerves

my heart is packaged; tied by string
to be unwrapped
sworn to be torn
by the one whom i love everything

The second is a bit unconventional in rhyming scheme, a bit random but I kind of like it:

life is full of murmurs
over coffee, over cigarettes
they're talking about you
well - you hope they are
because it's better than not
because nothing more the human mind upsets
than thinking nobody cares a jot
they lack true interest
in the things you've done
only what a bore you've become
or nasty rumors about him & her
the threat of them finding out does not deter
so when the conversation swings my way
and everyone asks what i've got to say
i don't offer my opinion.
and when i'm disregarded for this
I blankly stare and just smile,
I just smile.

Anyway, i hope you liked these too, but just post any comments bad or good appreciated

first post

This is my first blog post, i'm not going to post the stuff I write here all the time, and I'm not going to post what i've written in any form of chronology, maybe just what I want to show... So I suppose let's go:

The great love poet
John Donne once said
"we're a compass,
our two legs spread
and one follows behind
till they're wed"
but that's not us
we're a pencil instead
both of us the body
both of us the lead
drawing a path together
always looking ahead
and when we're done writing
the words will be read.

I hope you like it, but feel free to post what you do or do not like about anything, i'm all ears. Anyway, that's all for now!
